A hearing will be held Thursday, February 11, 2010 in LOB Room 305 at 2:00 PM in Concord on a bill to prohibit smoking in certain areas of state parks and historic sites.

House Bill 1186 was sponsored by Rep. Susan Kepner, Rep. Judith Day and Rep. David Bettencourt.

The measure would prohibit smoking in “congregate” areas where people gather, including restrooms, tour areas, eating areas, relaxation areas, recreation areas and information and learning areas. According to the proposal, a person could be fined up to $50.If passed, the bill would become law on Jan. 1, 2011.

Sounds like another attempt to create ‘revenue’.

Please call the House Resources, Recreation and Development Committee and ask them to OPPOSE this bill.
