The Bedford School Board Deliberative Session is this Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at 7:00 PM at the Bedford High School. It will be a very important meeting.

Key points that come directly from the tax and spend crowd (BTQE) indicate that they will be opposing cuts and quite possibly proposing more spending:

1. Pack the meeting, even with non-voters
2. Everyone, even non-voters have an opportunity to speak
3. Arrive early
4. The “side” with the bigger turnout gets to decide the wording and dollar amount that goes on the March school district ballot
5. Significant increases could be proposed
6. A large turnout of BTQE people could prevent the “other side” from being heard or making proposals
7. A web site is being developed to insure increased school spending
8. BTQE will be collecting donations for this “campaign”
9. BTQE will be utilizing yard signs

If Bedford voters are to maintain reasonable constraints on their school budget and property taxes, they must counter this organized effort to increase the school budget.
