From RLCNH’s Report:
We successfully beat back SB 163, the bill that would have voluntarily set up Obamacare-mandated, state-run health insurance exchanges in New Hampshire. Thankfully, the Senate agreed to leave the bill on the table, largely due to your outcry and the work of groups such as RLCNH and the Josiah Bartlett Center for Public Policy Studies to bring in Michael Cannon from CATO Institute, who educated our N.H. legislators on the issue (read his testimony for the House Commerce Committee).
The executive branch can still move forward with the exchanges unless we stop them!
There is hope — a number of RLCNH endorsed representatives, led by Rep. Andrew Manuse and Speaker Bill O’Brien, have introduced a bill HB 1297 that would prohibit anyone in N.H. state government from creating a state-based health insurance exchange. An amendment by Rep. Manuse and the Speaker would strengthen existing New Hampshire law and make sure the state executive departments don’t do any work to help Obamacare along. But the state Insurance Department is still fighting tooth and nail to get its language passed, and the department is now working with friendly representatives in the House to use HB 1297 to get its way on the implementation of Obamacare in New Hampshire, anyway. Stop them, we must!
Your immediate action can make the difference! A few more phone calls and emails to our legislators will put enough pressure on them to gain majority support. Both the House and the Senate need to hear from you that N.H. wants HB 1297 to pass with the Speaker/Manuse Amendment, and NOT the Insurance Department Amendment.

We must not roll over and watch the executive branch implement Obamacare while Republicans sit on their laurels. We must stand firm and fight together!
