Will the House and Senate listen?
Bad enough voters must keep an eye on their local government, they now must also keep an eye on the state, which seems to have spun out of control.
It’s hard to know when these bills are coming up for full vote, HB 1629 and HB 1309 snuck up us today. We knew they were to be ‘fast-tracked’…
Even if these bills pass the Senate, they can still defeat them in the House, and vice versa. (The body of origin votes first, then at crossover time, the other body votes.)
The House and Senate are considering several bills that would keep the UNCONSTITUTIONAL Housing Appeals Board.
Other bills would promote the state takeover of local boards in order to force towns to allow low income housing.
More bills would give certain developers CREDIT for complying with the scheme to flood NH with apartment buildings.
The result is that the added tax burden will be placed on the single-family homeowner, thus making home ownership even MORE difficult.
Here is a list of bills that MUST be stopped or supported, many of them being voted on today.
*Two of them are part of the Governor’s scheme to give his 2 developer friends MORE TAX BREAKS. They were written by two Reps who are ‘graduates’ of the left-leaning ‘Carsey Institute’, one of whom is claiming to be a Republican.
Democrats should be infuriated that Sununu is giving massive subsidies and tax breaks to his friends, and republicans should also recoil at the loss of local control.
The state’s attempt to overstep its bounds by trying to control HOUSING in the towns is UNCONSTITUTIONAL.
TELL THE HOUSE and SENATE to KILL THESE BILLS:
*HB 1629 – Zoning rules
*HB 1632 – Developer Perks
HB 1248 – More Developer Perks
SB 475 – More Developer Perks
SB 487 – The State has no right to mitigate ‘housing’
TELL THE HOUSE and SENATE to SUPPORT THESE BILLS:
HB 1309 – Let the town voters decide!
SB 735 – Repeal the unconstitutional Housing Appeals Board!
SB 721 – Repeal the unconstitutional Housing Appeals Board!
SB 536 – Study the HAB. If repeal does not pass, we need to scrutinize this illegal board!
The NH Governor’s plan is no different than that of Gavin Newsom of California. The difference is, the CA legislature had the BRAINS to STOP NEWSOM.
Will NH have the brains to stop Sununu?
