2017: ELECTIONS
Our own NKTA president, James Baker, was elected for the Newton School
Board seat.
NKTA supported Tammy Mahoney who was elected to the at-large School Board
seat.
NKTA supported Mary Cyr was elected to a seat on the Budget Committee and NKTA supported Jim Doggett was re-elected, unopposed, to his seat on the Budget Committee.
With the strength of NKTA supported candidates, the chairmanship of the School board changed hands 2017. We also now have a new school administration that is more open and willing to listen to voters.
VOTER EDUCATION
5 education videos on the town budget processes (see below) were created and run on the Newton Town Cable station. (note: Kingston cable station is not yet operational so we have not yet been able to run in Kingston)
These are posted on You Tube (You tube channel is NK Taxpayers)

2 NKTA Mailers went to all town addresses for both Kingston and Newton.

SCHOLARSHIP FUND
NKTA created a scholarship fund, that was funded by separate donations and fundraising. The first $500 scholarship was awarded last year and 2018 Scholarship award is already fully funded.
Please help us to continue to have a positive impact in our communities by becoming a member of the NKTA.
Membership dues can be submitted to our PO address, or through Paypal
Make checks payable to:
NEWTON-KINGSTON TAXPAYERS ASSOCIATION
P.O. Box 40, Newton, N.H. 03858
Or you can access paypal through our website:

Our dues are how we fund the voter education mailings that we distribute to all voters in Newton and Kingston.
This consumes 100% of our annual dues revenues. Fortunately, through many additional donations, we were able to fund 2 mailings in 2017.
We plan to do the same in 2018, but we cannot do so without additional member support.
Thank you
